If you do this, it can help you as you consider the high and low points. If you could not exercise on certain days, record the reason.
One simple way to increase your muscle mass is to lift lots of weight just a few times. Start with a specific muscle group of your choice, such as your chest. Start with weights that are lighter than usual to warmup your muscles. It should be possible for you to complete 15-20 reps with the warm-up weights. For your second set, select a weight for which you can only perform 6-8 reps. Add 5 more pounds, and then repeat the reps for your third set.
Record all of your daily activity in a detailed fitness diary. Note your workouts and anything else that you engage in. Buy a pedometer and look to see how many steps you take during the day; write that down, too. When you write down what you do daily, it helps you see see how well you are progressing so that you know if you need to step it up or not, and it helps to keep you motivated.
