Let’s start off by reminding ourselves that staying in shape is sometimes not easy or fun. However, it is a necessity that should not be avoided if one wants a healthy and happy life. The good news is that it does not take much to do it. A bit of time and dedication will make all the difference. You may even enjoy yourself.
A lot of people regularly visit the gym and lift weights to improve their personal fitness. Basically you need on six easy exercises in order to stay fit, they are push ups, pull ups, bridges, leg raises, squats, and handstand push ups.
Are you short on time for exercising? Break up the workout into two separate routines. All you need to do is divide your time in half; expanding the total time you spend working out isn’t necessary. If you normally spend 60 minutes on the treadmill, schedule half an hour of treadmill time each morning, and 30 minutes more later that night. If you do not want to visit the gym two times in a day, do one of the workouts at home.
Begin with smaller weights when you are in the initial stages of your workout. Your smaller muscles get tired before larger ones do, so it makes sense to start with dumbbells or barbells before the bigger machines, for example. Then, as you work your greater muscles, the small ones get a much-needed break.
Your long term exercise goals should be the determining factor in the frequency of your strength training. If your aim is to bulk up, you should do more intense sessions on a less frequent basis. Yet in order to get leaner you are going to want to do more strength training workouts.
Try out an assortment of fitness exercises and classes to mix things up. This can give you a fresh perspective on exercise and even make it fun. If you have not yet, try a dance or yoga class to mix it up. Think about signing up for boot camps or give kickboxing a go. Remember you only have to try each class once, and you’ll be losing weight along the way.
Add many intervals of lighter weight, as opposed to heavier weights and less repetitions, when lifting weights. This will help you see results more quickly. You want to build endurance to build muscle mass. The largest body builders in the world do this.
Block off a few minutes daily in your schedule for exercise. Even simple things like taking the stairs, or parking farther away can make a great improvement in your health.
Dieting is hard to maintain if you can’t see any results. Instead of obsessively weighing yourself, use your clothes to gauge your progress. At the end of the week, put these clothes on to see how they fit. It is likely that you will be amazed at your success.
Always make sure you are wearing shoes that are comfortable and fit your feet. Look for new shoes in the afternoon, when your feet are at their largest. There should be at least a half of an inch at the end of your shoe, between it and your large toe. Your toes should have room to move around.
One fun exercise is kickboxing. No one tries a few rounds of kickboxing without working up a serious sweat and feeling like they’ve really gotten a great workout. Not only will this type of exercise burn calories, it will help you build strength.
It’s impossible to guarantee that a fitness routine will be enjoyable or easy, but preparing appropriately with a good attitude and a little self-education definitely improves the odds. You should not think you can do it alone. All you have to do is find the help and decide for yourself that you want to be fit.
